Everett: Hearing on city’s bicycle plan
The public is invited to speak about a proposed city bicycle plan intended to promote bicycle travel.
The hearing is set for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the eighth floor hearing room, 2930 Wetmore Ave., Everett.
The plan includes a detaile
d list of proposed bicycle improvements, design standards for bicycle facilities and strategies for how the city plans to pay for and implement projects.

The hearing is part of the city Planning Commission’s regular meeting.

Lowell Park off-leash dog area closed
The off-leash dog area at Lowell Park, 4605 S. 3rd Ave., is temporarily closed for repairs due to vandalism.
The Parks and Recreation Department will reopen the park as soon as possible.
Dogs on leashes are allowed in all city parks.

Lake Stevens: Fire district makes magazine
Snohomish County Fire District 8 is making a special appearance in magazine ads this month.
The district took part in a live fire sprinkler demonstration in October, public educator Alison Caton said. It also was one of two districts chosen to be featured in advertising for the Home Fire Sprinkler Coalition, which sponsors sprinkler demonstrations around the country, including the one in Lake Stevens.
The district was picked for the ads because of how well their event went, Caton said. The ads are scheduled to run in the February editions of Fire Chief, Fire Engineering, Fire & Rescue, Firehouse and OnScene magazines.
Mukilteo: Public comments sought
The Mukilteo City Council is holding public hearings on updating the Mukilteo Shoreline Master Program in accordance with the state Shoreline Management Act.
The hearings are scheduled during City Council meetings at 7 p.m. Feb. 22 and March 7 in the City Council Chambers, 11930 Cyrus Way, Mukilteo.
Written comments also will be accepted until 4:30 p.m. at the City Hall on days of the hearings.
