Grateful thanks to those who aided dad

Published 12:01 am Saturday, March 5, 2011

On Feb. 23, my father was walking his dog on 192nd Street SE in Bothell, not far from his home, which he does almost every day. He stepped off the pavement, hit an icy patch of grass and fell. He suffered a broken leg and is being treated at a local hospital.

On his behalf and that of our entire family, I want to thank the good people who came to his aid. One woman saw him on the ground and stopped her car. She put her coat under his head and covered him with a blanket. Another woman went to my nearby house to tell my husband about Dad’s fall.

Since Angus, the dog, escaped from his collar during the excitement, the woman also went to Dad’s house to see if she could find the dog. Angus was waiting outside the fence at home and she put him in the yard. Two men called 911.

It is very heartening to know people are so kind. We don’t know their names. We don’t know where they live. But we know they are the best kind of neighbors to have. We want to thank them very, very much.
