LAKE STEVENS — Lake Stevens (1-1) evened its record after a 10-run rule, nonleague victory. Dylan LaVelle (1-0) picked up the win, tossing three innings with five strikeouts and allowing just one hit. LaVelle also batted 2-for-2 with a double and an RBI. The big hit came off the bat of JT Cox, who blasted a three-run homer as part of the Vikings’ nine-run second inning. Keanu Puha hit 2-for-3 with a run for Lake Stevens. The Mavericks dropped to 0-2.
