Proposed pay raises for Everett elected leaders

Published 10:09 am Thursday, March 17, 2011

The mayor and the City Council may not get a raise until at least 2013. They may not get one even then unless the Consumer Price Index goes up. That’s the recommendation from a proposed salary schedule set by the city’s Salary Review Commission. I’ve attached a copy.

The mayor currently make

s $154,956.72 annually and City Council members earn $26,279.52. The proposal ties pay raises to the Consumer Price Index and it stipulates that the overall salary bump shall not exceed 3.6 percent. For the mayor, that would be a maximum of $5,578.44 annually and for council members $946.06.

The public may comment at the following public hearing dates:

• Noon, Monday, March 21, eighth floor hearing room, Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave.

• 6 p.m., Thursday, April 21, eighth floor hearing room, Wall Street Building, 2930 Wetmore Ave.
