Prep baseball: Edmonds-Woodway 8-7, Mariner 1-6

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Austin Jones led Edmonds-Woodway team in both games of the Wesco South doubleheader, hitting 3-for-4 in the first game with a two-run home run in the second inning and four RBI. Austin Jones hit another two-run home run in Game 2 and pitched three innings for his first win on the mound this season. Jones gave up two hits, two earned runs, two walks and had two strikeouts.

In Game 1, Bryce Mezich pitched five innings for the Warriors with two hits allowed, three walks and six strikeouts.

Patrick Bernard hit the game-winner for Edmonds-Woodway in the second game, a grounder between shortstop and third in the bottom of the seventh inning to drive in Jones and pinch-runner Justin Jolly. Derek Callahan went 3-for-3 with two doubles and three runs scored for the Warriors.
