MOUNT VERNON — Whitney Jammerman of Glacier Peak and Abby Beauchamp of Marysville-Pilchuck tied for ninth place in individual scoring Monday at the Burlington-Edison Invite played at Skagit Golf and Country Club.

The tournament, which is in its 19th year, is a stroke play event, which includ

es three players from each team playing 18 holes, and two to three players playing only nine holes. Only the top two nine hole scores are counted per team.

Four local schools placed in the top ten overall of the event, including Marysville-Pilchuck (6th), Glacier Peak (7th), Edmonds-Woodway (8th) and Lake Stevens (9th).

Erynne Lee of Central Kitsap was the medalist, shooting a course record 65. Lee has a college scholarship to play golf at UCLA. Chelsea Saelee of Mercer Island shot a 66.

Marysville-Pilchuck’s Stephanie English and Megan Carlson tied for fifth best score among the nine-hole golfers, each shooting a 52.
