Arlington: Easter egg hunt set for Saturday

Bring your kids, their Easter baskets and your camera to the annual Arlington Easter egg hunt, 11 a.m. Saturday at Arlington Municipal Airport.

The hunting grounds are behind the athletic club. Enter the airport from 51st Avenue and 172nd Street.

The free event is sponsored by the city and Cascade Valley Hospital.

Camano Island: Learn about bee colony collapse disorder

Commercial beekeeper Timothy Lawrence, and an adjunct staff member of the Island County WSU Extension office, plans to talk about bee colony collapse disorder at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Camano Multipurpose Center, 141 East Camano Drive.

Darrington: Meeting of prevention group

The Darrington Prevention Preparedness Community Coalition, which works on the prevention of drug, alcohol and tobacco use, plans to meet from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Darrington High School library, 1085 Fir St.

The agenda includes a discussion about hiring a full-time prevention-intervention specialist for the schools and community.

Marysville: Talent sought for festival

The Marysville Strawberry Festival is looking for talent.

Auditions for the talent show are scheduled for May 16 and 17 at Marysville Pilchuck High School. All ages, solo or group acts can audition.

The deadline for entries is May 13. Applications are online at www.maryfest.com.

The Strawberry Festival Talent Show is planned for June 16.

Donate pet food for needy animals

Marysville Community Food Bank and the nonprofit Scrub-A-Mutt have joined together to help supply pet food.

Donations of pet food can be dropped off at Crystal Clean Pups Grooming, Googenhymers Pet Grooming, Mane Idea Salon, Marysville Community Food Bank, Quil Ceda Veterinary Hospital, Sun Galaxy Tanning, Sundeck Tanning Salon, VCA Animal Hospital and Vinaccio Coffee.

The food will be distributed to pet owners who use the services of the food bank located at 4150 88th St NE.

Silvana: Firefighters plan annual breakfast

The Silvana Firefighters Association plans to serve a pancake breakfast from 7 a.m. to noon Saturday at Viking Hall, 1331 Pioneer Highway, Silvana.

Breakfast is by donation. Raffle tickets and crafts will be sold. Proceeds help buy EMS supplies.

Stanwood: Spring spectacular set

A spring fling for children is scheduled for 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday in downtown Stanwood.

Breakfast is available until 11 a.m. at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and United Methodist Church.

An Easter egg hunt by the Stanwood Eagles Club starts at 9 a.m. at Heritage Park. The parade is at 11 a.m. along 271st, followed by 4-H horse rides at Viking Village and photos with the Easter bunny at Candies Kids.
