Building already outpaced streets

All residents of the county, tired of the rising congestion on our roads, should be glad to hear at least one of our elected representatives, County Councilman Dave Gossett, is concerned about our roads and how to fund future needs for them. (Tuesday article, “County leaders disagree about road problems, how to pay for fixes“).
Those of us in Mill Creek witnessed the county remove the grading system (levels A thru F) from 164th SE and 128th to allow for more development to occur. At last count, 164th SE had an average of 55,000 cars a day. Think what the count will be, if not a parking lot, should the County PDS and the County Council allow further housing development in southeast county.
Today we have the congestion on 164th SE because years ago the County Council (lead by Councilman Corcoran) chose not to extend 180th SE from the Bothell-Everett Highway to I-5, thereby making 164th SE the last southbound access road to I-5. Let’s give Councilman Gossett our support as he tries to plan ahead for the future growth that will have an impact on our roads. Attend one of the hearings or write your councilman about your concerns.
