Wrong to rejoice death of any life

I am saddened by the people cheering the death of even one we call an enemy. How can this be so widely accepted? I regret that people have died because of bin Laden. However, it has got to be wrong to actually celebrate a death, any death, if we want to consider ourselves civilized. War may be a necessary evil, but I believe it is a moral evil to rejoice at the extinction of any life.
I know there are others who feel this way. Please count me among those who believe that hate brings us to the level of those who attack us, and who believe it is important to say so.
I was a Navy wife for 20 years, and I stand behind the decision our president made. It has got to be a heavy burden to weigh the needs of the country against individual lives, both our own losses, and those we take. It is a sad and serious choice. I can’t cheer about it.
