Prep girls tennis: Baik defeats LaLone

MILL CREEK — Kamiak’s Elaine Baik won the 4A District 1 girls tennis singles championship Wednesday at Jackson High School, defeating Stanwood’s Megan LaLone 6-4, 1-6, 6-2 to remain undefeated. Baik came into the district tournament as the No. 1 seed from the Wesco South. LaLone was the No. 1 seed from the Wesco North. Baik finished third in the state in 2009 before taking 2010 off from high school tennis. LaLone was last year’s state runner-up.
