DARRINGTON — Skagit County deputies continued to review evidence and re-interview witnesses as they investigate a shooting Saturday near Darrington.

A dispute between two groups at Dearinger Campground may have led to the shooting of a 23-year-old man, Skagit County Sheriff’s Office chief criminal deputy Tom Molitor said.

Skagit County deputies were alerted to the shooting about 1 a.m., Saturday after the victim’s friends drove him to Darrington to get medical help. They were unable to get reception on their cellular phones.

“We don’t have the shooter identified at this point,” Molitor said.

The man was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle. He was listed in serious condition and his injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, Molitor said.
