Something for the hockey fans, both of them: The National Hockey League’s championship series begins Wednesday night in Vancouver, B.C., with the Vancouver Canucks facing the Boston Bruins for Lord Stanley’s Cup.
Herald writer Aaron Swaney is heading north to catch the game at a Vancouver watering hole so he can enjoy the Olympiclike vibe of a city celebrating a team in championship contention. Or as it’s known in Seattle: “1979.”

Not-so-smartphones: A panel of international medical experts issued a report following a review of medical studies that found cellphones should be considered possible cancer-causing agents.
As the panel was explaining the evidence linking cellphone use to brain tumors, ringtones were heard coming from the experts’ jackets.

Weenie roast: New York Congressman Anthony Weiner, D-Oscar Mayer, says he has hired a lawyer to investigate who hacked his Twitter account and made it appear he had sent a lewd photo to a Seattle college student over the weekend.
By Tuesday, Weiner said he wanted to move on and “get back to the conversation I care about,” namely the pronounciation of Speaker of the House John Boehner’s name.
