Is that a gecko in your pocket? A Californian man has been sentenced to 15 months in prison for attempting to smuggle 15 live lizards, including two geckos and two monitor lizards, past customs officials at Los Angeles International Airport by strapping the reptiles to his chest .

A jury rejected the man’s defense that he bought the outfit from Lady Gaga.

Horns of a dilemma: Two tourists were injured in Pamplona, Spain, at the annual festival of the running of the bulls. Both men suffered concussions when they jumped from the top of a wall into a crowd, believing promises that those below would catch them and break their fall.

It was the first time in the history of the Pamplona festival that someone was injured, not by the bulls, but by a load of bull.

How musch ish that doggy (hic) in da window? A New York City pet store, which is surrounded by taverns, has banned drunken puppy-buying. The store owner tells happy-hour customers who have imbibed too much to think about the responsibilities of being a pet owner and return the next day when they’re sober.

Drunken customers are still free to go to the gun shop next door.
