Scientists report progress on a very important front: Why sunburned skin is so sensitive to the touch hours after exposure, and what can be done to alleviate the pain.

Sadly, sun worshippers, the sunburn pain cure won’t be available before your backslapping uncle visits later this month.

Cover up, will ya? Speaking of sunburns, an Everett-based company has developed shirts and other clothing that have a sun protection factor of more than 30.
