MUKILTEO — The Snohomish County Auditor’s Office last week affirmed its decision to deny a license for a strip club along Mukilteo Speedway.
Robert Noriega had asked the county to reconsider his application to open a club called Black Pearl under county rules for an adult entertainment dance studio. Licensing officials denied his application last month because of two restaurants located within 660 feet of the proposed business on 10924 Mukilteo Speedway, in unincorporated Snohomish County. County code requires strip clubs to be at least that distance from schools, churches, parks, youth centers or establishments that sell alcohol by the drink.
In a July 11 response to Noriega’s appeal, the county’s department of Planning and Development Services reported finding no new information that would change its conclusion.
Noriega still can choose to file an appeal with the county hearing examiner.
