Arson damages Marysville playground

MARYSVILLE — An early morning arson Wednesday heavily damaged a playground in the north Marysville area.

The fire was reported at 12:20 a.m. at or near Shoultes Elementary School on 51st Avenue NE.

The fire was extinguished in about 10 minutes, Marysville Fire Marshal Tom Maloney said. No injuries were reported.

Damage was estimated at $45,000. Crews from Arlington and Silvana also responded.

Marysville police are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
