Mukilteo: Police offer Citizens Academy
The Mukilteo Police Department is planning another Citizens Academy this fall. The class will meet from 6 to 9 p.m. on Thursdays from Sept. 8 to Oct. 27. Classes are held at
the fire station on 47th Place W.
People who attend the academy learn about law enforcement and get an inside look into Mukilteo police, crime prevention officer Cheol Kang said.
Class topics include criminal law and procedures, investigations and forensic science. Attendees also get to participate in a police ridealong.

Mountlake Terrace: Coffee with the mayor
Join city officials in Mountlake Terrace for a cup of coffee and hear first-hand what’s happening in the city. This casual event is planned for 6 p.m. Aug. 10 at the Recreation Pavilion Jungle Room, 5303 228th St. SW.

Mill Creek: Tambark Creek Park ceremony
A ceremony to mark the start of work at Tambark Creek Park has been scheduled for Aug. 9 at 10:30 a.m.
The 40-acre park is owned jointly by Snohomish County and Mill Creek. In June, county leaders approved a contract for nearly $5.3 million to develop the area with a baseball and soccer field, dog park, trails and other features. The money is coming from a mitigation settlement with King County for its Brightwater treatment plant. Construction is expected to last about 10 months.
