… until the Silvertips take the ice for the first time at training camp.
Training camp officially begins this evening when the players check in for orientation. Then the on-ice sessions begin Thursday morning, with camp concluding Sunday. The approximately 80 players will split into four teams, with veterans and rookies sprinkled among each team. Each team will play two scrimmages each day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with camp concluding with Sunday’s Green vs. Grey game. All of it takes place at Comcast Arena and is open to the public free of charge. Fans who attend Sunday’s game are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items to donate to the Volunteers of America Everett Food Bank.
Here’s a reminder of training camp schedule:
Thursday-Saturday
Morning session: 9-11:45 a.m.
Afternoon session: 2:30-5:15 p.m.
Sunday
Green vs. Grey game: 1 p.m.
Once again I’ll be live blogging from training camp. I’ll set up live blogs for each of the sessions on Thursday and Friday for sure, then we’ll see about Saturday.
