Everyone’s checked in

Just back from this evening’s check-in for Silvertips training camp. Everyone’s here who’s supposed to be here, including all the returning players, both new Euros, and all of the picks from this year’s bantam draft, so step No. 1 is a success. There’s about 70 players here total.
My first impression on seeing the players in street clothes: There’s some big boys who will be vying for roster spots. A couple of the 16-year-olds appear more than ready physically, most notably forward Michael Bell, who looks like a beast.
Here’s a more-detailed schedule for camp. All the action is on the main ice at Comcast Arena and is open to the public:

Lastly, the Tips extended their radio broadcasting deal with KRKO through the 2013-14 season. KRKO’s second station, KKXA 1520 AM, is scheduled to go live this fall. That means those Friday night games that conflicted with high school football, which usually caused the Tips broadcast to be delayed, will be able to go live on 1520.
