EVERETT — On a set play from a corner kick in the 60th minute, Jackson’s Cara Wegner began the play that would lead to Tia Carrilloa’s game-winning score to give the Timberwolves the 1-0 win over Kamiak in a Wesco South match on Thursday at Everett Memorial Stadium.

After Wegner kicked a short ball to Ali Sitz from the corner, Sitz crossed the ball across the goal to Carrilloa, whose header crossed back in front of and into the goal for what would be the game-winner. It was the second goal of the year for Carrilloa, who is a mid-fielder for Jackson.

“Tia just had a great header on the ball,” said Jackson head coach Mike Bartley.

After the win, Bartley praised his defensive line, which has been an integral part to Jackson’s 4-0 overall start to the season.

“The back line hasn’t given up a goal yet (this season),” said Bartley, whose line from right to left includes Sitz, Krista King, Emma Dahline and Jordy Hutchens.

Whitney Carter was in goal with the shutout for Jackson, now 3-0 in league. Emma Makela was in goal for Kamiak (1-1 league, 1-3-0 overall).
