EVERETT — Three campuses in the Mukilteo School District went into brief lockdowns Wednesday after police hunted for a man with outstanding warrants, officials said.
Mariner High School, Voyager Middle School and Discovery Elementary School closed the doors for about 15 minutes around 1:15 p.m. Wednesday, Mukilteo School District spokesman Andy Muntz said. The schools are south of Everett.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office recommended the lockdowns after a man who had been stopped for outstanding warrants tried to run away, sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said. He was arrested a few minutes later.
A sheriff’s helicopter training in the area provided assistance.
No further details were available Wednesday,
