Two reassigned

With just days remaining until the season begins we’ve reached the most-difficult phase of cuts, and today the Tips pared their roster down by two by reassigning wingers Carson Samoridny and Michael Urbaniak.
The 17-year-old Samoridny had a good training camp, showing he was a big body who could score. However, that didn’t translate in the preseason games as he tallied just one assist in five games.
The 16-year-old Urbaniak was always a longshot to make the team this season. He was reassigned following training camp, then recalled during the preseason. He only appeared in two preseason games and did not play this past weekend, so the writing was on the wall for him.
This isn’t the end of the line for either of these guys as I’m sure they’ll get their opportunity in the future.
Everett’s roster is now down to 27: 16 forwards, eight defensemen and three goaltenders. I imagine that, given the injuries to forwards Manraj Hayer and Trent Lofthouse and the unknown availability of forward Josh Birkholz and goaltender Kent Simpson, this will be Everett’s opening-night roster. However, teams are supposed to get down to 25 by some point in the season, so the roster work isn’t done yet.
Here’s who remains:
Forwards (16): Josh Birkholz (91), Tyler Maxwell (91), Cody Fowlie (92), Ryan Harrison (92), Jesse Mychan (92), Vladimir Dolnik (93), Tyler Giebel (93), Manraj Hayer (93), Zach McPhee (93), Josh Winquist (93), Kohl Bauml (94), Jordyn Boyd (94), Jari Erricson (94), Trent Lofthouse (94), Michael Bell (95), Ryan Chynoweth (95).
Defensemen (8): Brennan Yadlowski (91), Dominik Bittner (92), Evan Morden (93), Ryan Murray (93), Darian Henry (94), Nick Walters (94), Austin Adam (95), Tye Hand (95).
Goaltenders (3): Luke Siemens (92), Kent Simpson (92), Austin Lotz (95).
By the way, for interested poll voters, there are five 16-year-olds still on the roster.
