Lynnwood: Meeting on North Creek Trail
Learn about potential routes for the North Creek Regional Trail at a Nov. 16 open house.
People can talk to Snohomish County staff and view information about the future trail section from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at Lynnwood High School, 18218 North Road. The section in question is between Highway 524 and 183rd Street SE west of the Bothell-Everett Highway.
The county has been working for more than a year to choose a route through unincorporated areas bordering Lynnwood and nearby cities. Other portions of the pedestrian and bike path have been completed in Mill Creek and Bothell. When finished, the trail will connect King County’s Sammamish River Trail in Bothell to Snohomish County’s McCollum Pioneer Park in south Everett.

Snohomish: ‘Mittens for our Kittens’ drive
Both the Snohomish Chamber of Commerce and the Snohomish Boys and Girls Club are teaming up to collect winter clothes for children.
The groups are asking for gloves, scarves and hats for children of all ages during the drive, “Mittens for our Kittens”.
Donation boxes are to be located at the Boys and Girls Club, at 405 2nd St, Snohomish Community Food Bank, at 1330 Ferguson Park Road, and Columbia Bank, at 167 Lincoln Ave. The drive starts Nov. 4 and runs until Dec. 9.
The collected items are scheduled to be distributed by the Boys and Girls Club and the Holiday Giving Tree program in December.

Coupeville: Ebey’s Forever Conference
The fourth annual Ebey’s Forever Conference, which focuses on future of the Ebey’s Landing National Historic Reserve, is set for Friday and Saturday in the Coupeville area. The conference includes field trips, workshops and presentations.
The keynote speaker is Roylene Rides at the Door, of the USDA National Resources Conservation Service. She grew up on the Blackfeet reservation outside of Browning, Mont., and plans to talk about sustaining the legacy of conservation on Ebey’s Reserve.
Families are encouraged to take part.

Mukilteo: Hear from local authors
Hear poetry and stories by local writers at a literary salon planned for 6 p.m., Tuesday at the Mukilteo Library, 4657 Harbour Pointe Blvd. This is open to all ages and is free. The salon is presented by the Mukilteo Arts Guild’s Writers Group and the Sno-Isle Library System.
