Fire damages commercial building in Monroe

MONROE — A two-alarm fire broke out Wednesday night at the Staples along U.S. 2 in Monroe.
The fire was reported about 6:30 p.m., officials said. It apparently started near the building’s heating system. Damage mostly was limited to the roof.
The cause of the fire remained under investigation. No injuries were reported.
Crews also responded from Snohomish, Clearview, Gold Bar and King County.
