EVERETT — A Snohomish County Superior Court judge’s decision about letting Wal-Mart build in Monroe is scheduled to come in two weeks.

Judge Richard Okrent said he will make a decision Jan. 4 after hearing legal arguments from lawyers representing the citizen group Friends of North Kelsey, Wal-Mart and Monroe on Wednesday afternoon.

Friends of North Kelsey is appealing a decision made by the Monroe City Council to allow Wal-Mart to build in the city. The group argued that a Wal-Mart does not fit the city’s development code and design guidelines for streets in the North Kelsey area.
