Prep boys basketball: Mountlake Terrace 65, Meadowdale 38

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Another game and another showcase for the Mountlake Terrace boys basketball squad.

The Wesco 3A undefeated, league-leading Hawks overwhelmed Meadowdale 65-38 on Friday night.

This latest win, which improved the team’s record to 8-0 in league and 11-0 overall, was a testament to the team’s depth and overall balance.

Mountlake Terrace had seven players score at least six points and its leading scorer, sophomore post player Loren Lacasse, scored all of his 14 points in the fourth quarter.

“We moved the ball extremely well,” Mountlake Terrace assistant coach Greg Wirtz said, noting the team’s 19 assists. “Everything was pretty balanced … We executed our offense pretty well tonight.”

Junior Marquis Armstead finished with 12 points, Blake Fernandez 10 and Andrew Moisant chipped in eight for the Hawks.

Mountlake Terrace was able to exploit its height advantage on the glass, out-rebounding Meadowdale 35-27 for the game.

Meadowdale got 11 points from Matt Hirsch and 10 from sophomore Barrett Carlow.
