Deep gratitude to emergency responders

Published 10:52 am Friday, February 24, 2012

On Monday, I woke up with chest pains and pain radiating down both arms. I called my neighbors and asked if I could be dropped off at the Valley General Hospital emergency department. Wisely, 911 was called by the neighbor.

Another neighbor, who is with the Gold Bar Fire Department, came in. Vital signs were taken and I was made ready for the EKG that would arrive with the ambulance. The EKG showed I was having a heart attack.

I was put into the ambulance and was being transported to the Evergreen Hospital. On the way my heart stopped. With great expertise, life-saving CPR was given to me.

There is not enough praise in the world I could give to the Gold Bar Fire Department. They are truly the finest in the nation. I thank them from the bottom of my still-beating heart.
