Prep softball: Everett 14, Cascade 4 (5)

EVERETT — Everett scored 10 runs in the third inning, batting around twice, to blow the game wide open en route to a five inning victory over Cascade in a non-league contest.

“It took a couple of innings for us to shake off the nerves and for our bats to get ready,” Everett head coach Casey Chaffee said. “(In the third) we took a lot of walks and started hitting the ball all of a sudden.”

The Seagulls’ C.J. Shaver hit a double and triple and Olivia Juarez added two doubles to lead the Everett attack. Six of Everett’s eight hits went for extra bases. Lexie Levin went the distance in the circle to earn the victory.

Megan Miller homered for the Bruins.
