No sign of Fairchild airman lost in Spokane River

SPOKANE — The Spokane County sheriff’s office marine unit continues to search the Spokane River in difficult conditions today for a Fairchild Air Force Base airman missing since Saturday on a canoe trip.
Deputy Craig Chamberlin says the river is running fast and full. The water temperature is 37 degrees.
Chamberlin says searchers don’t know why 26-year-old James-Ramse-Lassiter went out in dangerous waters without a life jacket.
His canoe was sighted Saturday by people on a nearby trail, but it hasn’t been found.
The missing man’s truck was located Monday, parked at the Bowl and Pitcher area of Riverside State Park.
