MOUNT VERNON — Mount Vernon pitcher Chris McDowell struck out seven and allowed four hits to earn the victory for the Bulldogs over Shorecrest to advance in the 3A District 1 tournament. Ted Weber batted 2-for 2 to lead the Scots in the loss.
