Boeing 787 Dream Tour winds down, final leg announced

Australia and New Zealand are among the stops on the the final leg of the 787’s Dream Tour, which the Boeing Co. announced Friday.

Boeing said that more than 59,000 guests have visited the the refurbished flight test Dreamliner, known as ZA003, on the first six sections of the Dream Tour. And the company estimates another 6,000 will see the 787 during the final five stops that make up the last part of the tour.

After the tour concludes, ZA003 will undergo a scheduled maintenance check before rejoining the 787 flight test fleet. Boeing used the flight test 787s to gain Federal Aviation Administration certification on the Dreamliner. But the company continues to fly the test airplanes for product and technology enhancement purposes.

The Dreamliner will visit the following locations on the final leg of the tour:

Sydney, Australia on May 24

Auckland, New Zealand on May 29

Darwin, Australia on May 31

Tashken, Uzbekistan on June 1

Casablanca, Morocco on June 3
