AUBURN — Police in the south Seattle suburb of Auburn said a woman who stopped at a gas pump found an explosive device attached to her car. She called for help Wednesday and the area around a Fred Meyer store was temporarily blocked off while a bomb squad responded.
Police Cmdr. Mike Hirman told The Seattle Times that officers confirmed the item was an improvised explosive device. No one was hurt.
The woman found a fused device with tape around it attached to her gas cap. Police said she took it off and put it on top of her car, then called police.
A bomb squad neutralized the device.
