Prep football: Mountlake Terrace 42, Shorewood 8

SHORELINE — Mountlake Terrace running back Devante Downs rushed for 232 yards on 17 carries and scored two touchdowns, including an 88-yard touchdown run, as Mountlake Terrace beat Shorewood at Shoreline Stadium and locked up the Wesco 3A South No. 3 seed. Downs’ partner in the backfield, Chance Ragsdale, rushed for 123 yards and two touchdowns for the Hawks, who play Marysville Getchell on Friday for a chance to advance to the quad-district playoffs.
