Notes: It’s the first game of the post-Mark Ferner era, and interim coach Garry Davidson only makes minor tweaks to the line combinations. New defenseman Ayrton Nikkel, acquired at Thursday’s trade deadline in exchange for defenseman Nick Walters, makes his Everett debut. He plays alongside Mirco Mueller, who’s back after representing Switzerland at the World Junior Hockey Championships. Also back from international duty are forwards Tyler Sandhu and Ty Mappin, who played for Team Pacific at the U-17 World Hockey Challenge. Center Manraj Hayer (undisclosed) will be a game-time decision, with Brayden Low stepping in if Hayer can’t go. Forwards Dawson Leedahl (knee) and Lucas Grayson (lower body) are out injured, while defenseman Ryan Murray (shoulder) remains on the roster despite being out for the season.
