Supreme Court thwarts citizens

Published 3:54 pm Friday, March 1, 2013

Well, in one fell swoop, the Supreme Court thwarted the will of the people and at the same time gave the Democrats a windfall of tax revenue all at the expense of the taxpayer’s wallet. (Thursday, “Two-thirds majority rule for taxes struck down.”) I bet the Democrats in Olympia are exhausted from high-fiving each other over this decision. At the beginning of this legislative session, we were only facing the threat of adding a ten cent per gallon rise in gas tax, to one of the highest gasoline taxes in the nation.

For all of those voters who blindly vote for anyone with a “D” next to their name on the ballot, thank yourselves for the pending tax increases that this decision allows the democratically controlled state to enact.

It is truly amazing that an initiative I-1053 which is geared to maintain some control the overspending tax hungry Legislature passed with a strong majority and then some of those voters voting for I-1053 against tax increases vote for the same group of legislatures that are now going to go hog wild to increase taxes.
