MONROE — Despite giving up seven runs in the third, Sophia Frost pitched held Lynnwood scoreless in the other seven frames and hit 4-for-5 with two doubles to lead Jackson to a win in second round of the 4A District 1 Softball Tournament.

The extra-innings victory in the consolation-bracket game means the Timberwolves stay alive and face Kamiak Thursday. Jackson will need to win two more loser-out games to make the state tournament.

The Timberwolves battled back from the early 7-1 deficit, with pinch hitter Kirsten Scott hitting an RBI single with two outs in the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Frost pitched a scoreless eighth and Jackson had back-to-back-to-back singles in their half to win it. Kayla Ellis had the walk-off hit, scoring Tiana Lopez.
