A family safety fair is planned for June 22 in Granite Falls.

The “Mountain Loop Experience Safety Fair” is set from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. in front of the Granite Falls IGA at 115 N. Granite Ave.

Parents are encouraged to bring their children to get them free identification cards.

The cards can be helpful to law enforcement if children go missing, Granite Falls police officer Don Lauer said.

The fair also will feature booths and displays from the U.S. Army, the Granite Falls fire district, Snohomish County Search and Rescue, the Granite Falls School District, and a police dog trainer.

Many of the agencies will have emergency rigs on site for viewing, organizers said.

Sparky the Fire Dog, Smokey Bear and McGruff the Crime Dog are expected to attend.

The main events are in front of the grocery store and in the nearby grassy lot. Additional activities and vendor booths will be set up along the street.
