Notes: Everett starts the season without two key players as No. 1 goaltender Austin Lotz (Vancouver) and overage defenseman Ben Betker (Edmonton) remain at NHL training camps. Sixteen-year-old Carter Hart gets the call in goal ahead of 17-year-old Nik Amundrud. Without Betker and Micro Mueller available, Everett goes with a very young and inexperienced defense that includes a 19-year-old, two 18-year-olds and three 17-year-olds, three of whom are rookies. Everett has just one player who’s making his WHL debut, that being defenseman Lucas Skrumeda. All of Everett’s scratches who are here are healthy.

Notes: Seattle, which beat Portland 4-1 in its season opener on the road Friday night, also has two players still at NHL training camps, those being defensemen Shea Theodore (Anaheim) and Evan Wardley (Montreal) — though Theodore suffered an elbow injury that will keep him out four-to-six weeks. Overage winger Justin Hickman sits with an upper-body injury, while winger Calvin Spencer is out with mononucleosis.
