Seahawks’ Shead proposes to girlfriend after the game

SEATTLE — She said yes.

There was one final highlight at CenturyLink Field on Sunday, and it happened long after the fans had exited the stadium following the Seahawks’ victory over the Broncos.

Seattle backup cornerback DeShawn Shead proposed to his girlfriend, Jessica Martinez, who is from Sammamish. Shead proposed at midfield in a moment witnessed by several Seahawks teammates, including cornerback Richard Sherman, linebacker Bobby Wagner and wide receiver Jermaine Kearse. With his teammates using cell phones to record the moment, Shead went to one knee and popped the question. After saying yes, Ms. Martinez ended up with a large bouquet of roses and, of course, a ring.
