SHORELINE — After losing its first four matches of the season, the Shorewood volleyball team is on a roll. The Thunderbirds’ sweep of Glacier Peak on Tuesday was their eighth consecutive victory and clinched them a berth in the 3A District 1 tournament.
“I think we’ve settled into something that works for us and they’re just playing a lot more confident,” Shorewood head coach Jennifer Chartrand said. “We are still improving in practice. They didn’t let those losses get them down.”
Shorewood may have lost its first four matches, but did take the opponent to five sets in three of them. Since a 3-2 win over Shorecrest on Oct. 9, the Thunderbirds haven’t lost a set. Tuesday’s win over the Grizzlies was their third consecutive sweep.
“The girls plays really confidently as a team tonight, so I was really proud of that,” Chartrand said.
