The Russians are heading east

The Tips will have representation at the Canada-Russia Super Series after all, as Everett forwards Nikita Scherbak and Ivan Nikolishin have been invited to join the Russian team for the games against the WHL.
The Super Series is one of Hockey Canada’s annual events, purportedly to help with Canada’s player evaluations for the World Junior Hockey Championships. A touring Russian team plays two games against all-star teams from each of the WHL, OHL and QMJHL, with the CHL teams made up of players eligible to play for Canada at Wolrd Juniors.
Everett was shut out of the Super Series this year on the Canadian side. But today it was confirmed that the Russian team will pick up Scherbak and Nikolishin for the two games against the WHL. Those games are Monday in Saskatoon and Tuesday in Brandon. Scherbak in particular is a strong candidate to make Russia’s team for World Juniors.
Everett has no midweek games next week, so Scherbak and Nikolishin will not miss any game action with the Tips.
