Notes: The Tips ring in the second half by welcoming overage defenseman Ben Betker back to the lineup. Betker missed the final five games of the first half because of a concussion. Defenseman Tristen Pfeifer, who is reportedly recovered from his upper-body injury, doesn’t return just yet. Winger Logan Aasman remains out with an upper-body ailment.
Over the break winger Nik Malenica was reassigned. The 17-year-old from Nanaimo, B.C., who was pointless in 11 games, is joining the Nanaimo Buccaneers of the junior B VIJHL.
