SPOKANE — Snohomish shot just 1-of-20 from 3-point range and had just two players score in a 47-29 non-conference loss to University on Monday night.

Panthers coach Ken Roberts said the Titans (4-3) played a zone defense that allowed Snohomish to take 3-pointers at will, but his team couldn’t convert.

“They just packed it way in and gave us 3-point shots, but we didn’t make any,” he said. “That’s the story of the game right there.”

Madeline Smith scored 18 points and Madison Pollock tacked on 11 for the Panthers (3-4) to account for all 29 Snohomish points.

Snohomish jumped out to a 9-0 lead in the game and led 16-12 at halftime, but University outscored the Panthers 35-13 in the second half, as Claire Dingus scored seven of her eight points after the break.
