Chiropractors Russell, Wilson team up in Everett

Meet the other Russell Wilson.

Drs. Mara Russell and Jennifer Wilson, a chiropractic duo in Everett.

What are the odds?

Russell joined Wilson’s chiropractic practice a month after the Seahawks 2014 Super Bowl victory, when the quarterback sharing their name threw for over 200 yards and two touchdowns.

Cashing in on the fame is not why Wilson hired Russell. Never occurred to her.

“We didn’t even put the two together,” Wilson said.

“One of our patients brought it up,” Russell said. “He said, ‘Russell Wilson. You guys better use that for marketing.’ We just kind of laughed it off and were like, maybe we will.”

They took it to the street, painting two windows blue and green with “Dr. Russell” and “Dr. Wilson” above two poses of the hunky football player in action.

Passersby often snap pictures of the window murals near the corner of Grand and Hewitt avenues.

“We get a lot of people walking by the office, peeking in, asking ‘Is this real?’” Russell said. “When we do events in the summertime I’ve had a few people ask for my ID saying, ‘That can’t be real.’”

Oddly enough, 2014 was the 12th year since Wilson opened Renaissance Family Chiropractic. Guess what the theme of the anniversary celebration was?

The fanfare continues. “We do a Blue Friday at the office,” said Wilson, who wears a Wilson jersey. Ditto for Russell.

Name aside, is Russell Wilson their favorite Hawk?

Russell, a Wisconsin native, has been a fan since the standout played college football at the University of Wisconsin- Madison.

Wilson, a Washingtonian, likes his style.

“He plays smart,” she said. “It reduces injury. As a chiropractor, it’s kind of a thing of mine.”
