Prep softball: Archbishop Murphy 6, South Whidbey 5

EVERETT — Archbishop Murphy shortstop Nicole Manuel hit a line drive to the left side that South Whidbey couldn’t handle, scoring Alyson Matriotti from second with the winning run in the Wildcats’ Cascade Conference victory on Friday.

The Falcons tied the game 5-5 in the top of the seventh on an RBI double by Kacie Hanson that drove in Aria Ludtke.

Manuel went 2-for-4 with three RBI in the game for Archbishop Murphy. Hanson had two doubles for South Whidbey.
