MUKILTEO — Brandon Wright scored from 10 yards out off a feed from Eric Koegler in the 26th minute, and the Knights kept the defending Class 4A state champion Panthers at bay to claim the Wesco 4A victory on Wednesday night.
Chance Lord played a ball from right to left into the box for Koegler, who flipped it through to Wright for the goal.
Kamiak coach Kosta Pitharoulis said that both teams had opportunities to score in the late going, as Snohomish pushed players forward looking for an equalizer, which in turn opened up opportunities for the Knights on the counter-attack.
Snohomish hit the post with 10 minutes to go, and Pitharoulis said that Kamiak missed two golden opportunities to extend the lead inside the final five minutes.
The two teams will play again at Snohomish on May 4, the penutlimate regular season game for both teams.
