Prep softball: Mount Vernon 7, Cascade 3

MOUNT VERNON — Paityn Cyr tossed a complete-game three-hitter and did not allow an earned run as Mount Vernon beat Cascade in a Wesco 4A game on Tuesday.

Cyr struck out five and walked three for the Bulldogs, and also hit a two-run home run in the sixth inning.

Cassidee Halls went 4-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored at the plate for Mount Vernon.
