Prep softball: Meadowdale 19, Mountlake Terrace 2 (5)

MOUNTLAKE TERRACE — Meadowdale posted 11 runs in the top of the second inning en route to a victory over Mountlake Terrace in an abbreviated five-inning Wesco 3A South game Friday.

The Mavericks pounced on shaky pitching, capatalizing on the 10 walks and five errors given up by the Hawks.

Haili Taylor led Meadowdale, going 2-for-2 with a two-run homer and an RBI single. Starting pitcher Samantha Gregoryk did her part to expand the lead, going 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.
