Free car care for moms
Clearview Foursquare Church in Snohomish is providing car care for single mothers from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.
Services include oil changes, filter changes, fluids checks and car detailing. Nursery and children’s programs are available so mothers also can receive manicures, paraffin-wax hand treatments, buffet meals, family portraits and gifts.

More fire talks: The city of Lynnwood has reopened consolidation talks with Fire District 1. The two have had similar negotiations many times over the past few decades. They again will pursue the idea of a merger, creating a regional fire authority or other ways to combine services.
The most recent talks fell through in 2013.
Lynnwood Fire Chief Scott Cockrum wrote a memo on the topic that is scheduled for City Council review Monday night.
“Given that the parties have had previous experience in these discussions and have previously exchanged ideas and proposals, we should be able to identify topics that have been areas of distress quickly,” he wrote.
