OLYMPIA — A Garfield County wheat farmer has been chosen to fill the Washington state House seat left empty by the resignation of Susan Fagan of Pullman.
The Spokesman-Review reported that commissioners from the southeastern Washington district’s six counties on Friday named Mary Dye, 53, as their choice to fill the 9th Legislative District seat left open a week ago.
Longtime Republican activist Dye and her husband operate a wheat farm near Pomeroy.
State GOP Chairwoman Susan Hutchison says Dye is the Republican state committeewoman for Garfield County.
Fagan resigned following allegations that she falsified travel expense forms. A state Legislative Ethics Board investigation against her continues.
